In these hard economic times, many libraries are cutting back on staffing, hiring freezes, and so forth. However, libraries are needed more than ever as a location to do job searches, read books, use technology, socialize (without facebook), offer exciting programs, and so forth. It comes a question time and time again, how does one get volunteers to fill in the voids or help with programs or assist other patrons? Also, since the majority of libraries don't really do seasonal employees, volunteers are an excellant way to get some more people in during high volume times.
Needing your help. If I tweeted you this directly, thanks for taking a first step into providing something very unique for the library community.
At CIL, there was a presentation done where basically the speaker was saying him/their staff created an AI...well...its using a system called SitePal. Here is the quick demo I made last night.
