Tearing Down The Walls

It is almost the long awaited time to tear down the walls at the children's library and start building and setting up all the equipment to show the world that libraries are "more than books".
How to Get Volunteers

In these hard economic times, many libraries are cutting back on staffing, hiring freezes, and so forth. However, libraries are needed more than ever as a location to do job searches, read books, use technology, socialize (without facebook), offer exciting programs, and so forth. It comes a question time and time again, how does one get volunteers to fill in the voids or help with programs or assist other patrons? Also, since the majority of libraries don't really do seasonal employees, volunteers are an excellant way to get some more people in during high volume times.
