New @Sifteo Set!

Finally got my hands on the new Sifteo set from Sifteo.Com. A  special shoutout to Sarah over there for all her hard word and assistance to the Evolve Project! This is my brief review (haven't actually got to play...yet!).   I'm going to actually do a video demo of these awesome toys over the weekend...despite my strong dislike of hearing my voice recorded on YouTube.

So basically, the new Sifteo game is off the hook awesome.  I no longer have to lug a computer around to do demos, since there is a little wireless receiver that comes with the Sifteo Game. Essentially, I plug in the reciever into the computer, download the games I want to it, and off I go!  I bring the receiver around (instead of a computer) to send the games to the interactive cubes.

As a side note, I will be having a demo of these amazing devices at Computers in Libraries 2013 in Washington, DC.  Here is a link to the conference details: http://www.infotoday.com/cil2013/ . If you haven't already, I HIGHLY recommend going.  There are a ton of excellant presenters and speakers there, and I promise that you will come back with so many ideas, it will take two life times to actually do them all.

Now back to the cubes are a bit different. If you didn't read my first review of the first edition of the cubes, you can read that here: http://evolveproject.org/content/sifteo-cubes-review . At this time, you can still purchase the older Sifteo Sets.
I like the fact I can replace the battery now (always nervous about built in batteries like the original Sifteo set).  Downside, the aren't rechargeable. HOWEVER, I could always just buy rechargeable batteries!

Anyway, if you haven't bought the Sifteo set (just buy one, seriously) you are missing out. Feel free to reach out to me and I can talk to you more about the awesomeness that is Sifteo.
