Presentation at Internet Librarian.
So a few weeks ago, a few colleagues and I came up with a cool concept. Lets help students at a local university launch (hence Take Off) a startup, in eight weeks. This university is known for aviation, so it was a good fit to use "take off" as the project name.
Essentially, from a technology standpoint, the plan is to teach the participants in the free course various topics while developing a startup company, from laying the foundation, to branding, to marketing, and then to web design and fundraising efforts. Ideally, we will focus on different types of technology while also showing them the different stages and components. For instance, fundraising efforts would be how to use Kickstarter, and branding would be using Illustrator in designing a logo.
I also have great guest speakers lined up too! However, like all places, there are always politics and this was shelved...HOWEVER, whose to say I can't launch it from the Evolve Project, and take this on at the global level along with my colleagues! But first, as always, I like to get input. Please read more to see how the 8 weeks are structured...
During my time in New York, I was invited to do a seminar with Ed Lab. If you have not heard of what Ed Lab is, or does, I would highly advise you to check them out. They also have a great newsletter that would be worth subscribing to!!
Hello Everyone. I haven't been able to update my blog in quite sometime, so I do apologize. Been crazily working on new projects and doing some really cool exciting things. Time to get back in the groove of things and provide some updates :). Made a goal for one post / update a week. Lets see how this goes.
